BUT only RECOMMENDED if you have MINIMAL HAIR on TOP of the head. This allows you to put light exactly where the Brain's Glymphatic Drainage System passes. Do NOT spend the additional money on this BUNDLE of 5 if you have significant HAIR on the top of your head! While the light energy to the top of the head is extremely important, this is only recommended if you have THIN or NO HAIR on top. The glymphatic system is a newly discovered system of fluid flow in the brain. It is thought to be responsible for clearing waste products from the brain, such as amyloid beta and tau proteins, which are associated with Alzheimer's disease and other neurodegenerative diseases.
The meningeal lymphatics are a network of lymphatic vessels that surround the brain and spinal cord. They are thought to drain waste products from the brain and spinal cord into the bloodstream.
Research suggests that the glymphatic system is more active during sleep, which may explain why sleep is so important for brain health. When we sleep, the brain's blood vessels dilate, which increases the flow of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF). CSF is thought to carry waste products away from the brain and into the glymphatic system.
In people with Alzheimer's disease, the glymphatic system is thought to be impaired. This may be due to a decrease in CSF flow, or to changes in the brain's extracellular matrix, which is the network of proteins that supports brain cells. As a result, waste products build up in the brain, which can damage brain cells and lead to the symptoms of Alzheimer's disease.
Research is ongoing to better understand the glymphatic system and meningeal lymphatics, and to develop new treatments for neurodegenerative diseases.
